Travis Thompson – Bad Apples

First hearing him on «Mackelmore’s Corner Shop», which is a great song on its own, and now properly indulging in his latest album/mixtape ‘YOUGOOD?’, I really feel this dude.

He is bringing that Seattle rap with the new age twist, not everyone has to Skrrrr skrrr and have face tats. This song is so easy going and truthful, it’s from ‘YOUGOOD?’ which is one of the rare albums this year that you can easily listen to all the songs. I am rooting for this honest Native American with that Andy Milonakis swag and a fiery flow.

Its coming…⏳

Chance the Rapper – Work Out

Chance is back after a while and from a couple of his releases this one is so relatable especially when you had some exes in your life. As the message conveys it’s about wishing success to people in your past and moving on. “I missed my work out but it worked out”!

Kevin George feat Billy? – Omg

Singing and melodic rapping wrapped up smoothly. Kevin is very talented and The Weeknd influence is evident in his music, his second EP ‘Fortina’ which features this song is good but I feel he is still exploring and nailing down his own sound. You have to give props to Kevin for being a full fledged creator: producing, singing and even rapping at times.

070 Shake – Accusations

As mentioned in the previous drop, it is exciting to see on what journey will 070 take her music career and she is already releasing new material since her recent EP. It is very eclectic and the part in the song where we hear the fast flow is flawless, and I cannot take away the emotion in her songs which adds so much depth.

Ama Lou – Tried Up

Ama has a beautiful voice and a laid back style. She is definitely the next singer to blow up from the UK and we can make parallels with Jorja Smith, who has been giving Ama looks, but she is different if you feel her music out.

She is only 20 and I love how she admits that she grew up on basic pop including Justin Bieber and Hannah Montana, as most teens would. This quote from her Genius interview is just great and shows how real she is “I feel like sometimes people talk like, ‘I started listening to Ella Fitzgerald when I was 13.’ No you didn’t, you were watching Disney Channel. What’s wrong with you?”

Clyde Guevara – Higher Vibrations

Once in a while you get a solid new rapper come out who is cool and contemporary with the flow, but not a gimmick or has some crazy image, and can provide a soundtrack to real life (latest album ‘FreeJAH’ is dedicated to his fallen brother). Clyde is that rapper you can bump especially while on the go and this specific tune gives me focus and hope.

1010 Benja SL – Boofiness

Benja has barely any tracks out and not much information about himself online; with his Instagram having a couple funny or ironic images with simple captions and some personal pictures featuring what looks like his baby. I love this because nowadays you have artists overexposing themselves. Benja is creating something alternative with ‘Boofiness’ singing away while keeping the mystery.

Don’t talk to me or my son
